Call for papers for NordMedia 2015

We invite you to submit abstracts for the NordMedia 2015 conference under the theme Media PresenceMobile Modernities. Deadline for submitting abstracts is February 25th, 2015. The conference accepts abstracts for full papers, extended abstracts, panel proposals and poster presentations.

–      Full papers: Participants are invited to submit full papers for the conference. Full papers must not exceed 8.000 words.

–      Extended abstracts: These should contain an overview of the research question, relevant theoretical background, methodological approach, and preliminary findings. The final submission should not exceed 1.500 words.

–      Panel proposals: These should consist of three to four abstracts for full papers or extended abstracts. Furthermore the chair of the panel must submit an abstract introducing the panel, explaining the coherence of the presented abstracts and rational for presenting them in a themed panel. All abstracts should be limited to 250 words, including five keywords, and submitted as one file.

–      Posters: Abstracts for posters should adhere to the same guidelines as full papers and extended abstracts.

Not all divisions accept all types of submissions. Please consult each division for detailed instructions. If nothing else is noted, the division accepts all types of submissions.

 

Abstracts should describe the content of the intended contribution and explain its relation to the theme of the conference and relevant division. The abstract must include a research question, theoretical background, methodological approach, and analytical focus. Abstracts should be limited to a maximum of 250 words and be submitted in English.

 

Abstracts should be submitted online no later than February 25th, 2015, via an online abstract and paper handling system which will be made available on www.nordmedia2015.ku.dk. All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously with a two-person review process. Deadline for accepted papers, extended abstracts, panel proposals and posters is June 25th, 2015.

Call for division proposals:

Following the closing of the ‘Media, Culture, Society’-division an opening of a new division has become possible. Media and communication researchers with no or limited affiliation to any of the 10 divisions may use this opportunity to establish their own arena for exchange of specialised knowledge in a specific field. If approved, the division will function under the same terms as the other divisions at the NordMedia 2015 conference.

Proposals, of a maximum of 400 words, must contain:

–      Title

–      Nominations for chair and co-chair positions and their contact information

–      Description of the relevance of the division, of the theoretical field and how it may contribute to media and communication research and its development

Proposals should be e-mailed to student secretary Agnete Mette Juul (agmeju@hum.ku.dk) no later than December 18th, 2014. Accepted proposals will be announced primo January, 2015.

 

Call for Temporary Working Groups:

The submission of proposals for new Temporary Working Groups is now open. Media and communication researchers with no or limited affiliation to any of the 10 divisions may use this opportunity to establish their own arena for exchange of specialised knowledge in a specific field. If approved, a TWG will function as a small division at the NordMedia 2015 conference with the possiblity of becoming a regular division at a future NordMedia conference.

Proposals, of a maximum of 400 words, must contain:

–      Title

–      Nominations for chair and co-chair positions and their contact information

–      Description of the relevance of the TWG, of the theoretical field and how it may contribute to media and communication research and its development
